In the early 1980s, when active basses such as Music Man, Alembic, and Spector were introduced, the MC924 was a high-class version of the MUSICIANBASS, or MC series, from Ibanez, a world-class Japanese brand.
The MC924 has the same type of front and rear pickups as the early models, and is a single coil soap bar.
(Later models have different size front and rear pickups.)

Especially, the early model was used by STING in the early days of THE POLICE, and its popularity in Japan accelerated at that time.
It also appeared in the music video of the famous song "Message in a Bottle". (STING used the fretless version)
The sound produced by the high technology design and high performance preamp of the made in japan was not inferior to the already high quality made in usa basses.
The original nut, half brass and half bone, is still in place. Unfortunately, the rod cover is missing, and the second (tone) and third (+- equalizer) gold knobs are missing their rubbers, but both are in working order.
Overall, there are many scratches, but the condition is good considering the passage of 40 years.
Of course, the electrical system works without any problems.

ミュージックマンやアレンビック、スペクターなどの登場により、アクティブベースが各社よりラインナップされた1980年代初頭、世界に誇るJAPAN ブランドIbanezの MUSICIANBASSこと、MCシリーズのハイクラスバージョンがこのMC924
初期モデルの証フロント及びリアピックアップが同タイプ、ソープバーのシングルコイルです。
(後期物はフロントリアでサイズが違う)

特に初期モデルは人気絶頂の THE POLICE初期の STING が使用し当時日本での人気も一気に加速。
名曲メッセージインナボトルのMVにも登場します。(STINGはフレットレスバージョン)
そのMADE IN JAPAN の高い技術力のデザイン性、そして高性能なプリアンプから生み出されるサウンドは、どれをとってもすでに高品質なMADE IN USA ベースたちに退けは取っておりませんでした。
ブラスとボーンが半分ずつ用いられたオリジナルナットはそのまま、残念ながらロッドカバーは欠品、ゴールドのつまみ2つめ(トーン)と３つめ(イコライザーの+-)のラバー欠品、ともに動作には影響はありません。
全体的に傷は多めですがコンディションは40年の経過を考えますと良好と言えます。
もちろん電装系も問題なく作動します。
