1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom '54 / Black

Gibson Les Paul Custom 54 Reissue! The Les Paul Custom was born in late 1953 as a higher-end model of the Les Paul model, and was nicknamed "Black Beauty" for its black finish and gold parts. It was equipped with Alnico V and P-90 pickups at the time of its debut, but like the Les Paul model, it was replaced by humbucker pickups in 1957, and in 1961, the body shape was changed to SG, and production of Les Pauls was discontinued for a while. In 1968, the Les Paul was reintroduced with a new mahogany back and maple top, while the original 1954 Custom had an all-mahogany body. In 1969, it was changed to a pancake body back (mahogany/maple/mahogany), and this specification continued until around 1976. The first reissue model of the Les Paul Custom with such a history appeared in 1972. The first reissue model of the Les Paul Custom was released in 1972, and it was the Les Paul Custom '54.

This model was only produced for two years, in 1972 and 1973. This model was produced for only two years, 1972 and 1973, making it a valuable model that was only produced for a very limited period of time. As a point of judgement, it has the letters "LE" at the beginning of the serial number and does not have the volute on the back of the head, which is a characteristic of the 70's model. The body back is made of solid mahogany, not pancake. The "i" in the Gibson logo has been missing since 1968.

The overall paint is weather-checked, and the yellowed binding has a dignified appearance. However, there are very few scratches, and the original nut and frets are still fully usable and in very good condition. The body is very stable and the neck sounds great. It's a great guitar for your collection, but it's also a great guitar for the real world. When it comes to Telecaster, Keith Richards is often associated with them, but in the late 60s, he used a Les Paul Custom in his live performances. It would not be an exaggeration to say that the Les Paul Custom is a guitar that can be used in all genres. The case is a genuine Gibson black hard case from the 70's (blue inside). What a legendary is!

MR.K=Profile= He has been researching vintage guitars for several decades. He has participated in many vintage guitar show and has many contacts with legendary dealers. In recent years, he has also worked directly with guitar factory builders to develop reissue guitars.
