1978 Telecaster Custom is now in stock.

The Fender Telecaster Custom was introduced in the 1970s.
The Telecaster Custom was a new model with 1 single humbucker and 4 controls, instead of the 2 singles and 2 controls of the previous Telecaster.

The head serial number of this guitar is S8, which means it was made in 1978.
The front pickup is gray bobbin, and only the first number of the date cannot be identified, but the rest of the dates confirm that it was made in '78.
The rear pickup is also gray bobbin, but the other dates confirm it is original.

The shafts of the two pegs are slightly bent, and the strap pins have been replaced with Jim Dunlop locking pins.

Three of the control pots are dated 76, and the rear volume pot has been replaced.
The capacitors and selector are original, and overall the guitar retains much of its original condition.
There is also a sticker on the pickguard with the serial number, which is also dated '78.

The guitar has been used for a long time and has scratches, dings, and paint burns, and has a countless amount of history on its body.

It is in good playing condition and can still be used.

This is a rare Telecaster Custom that has not been seen in the market very often in recent years.
